Digital Defense Announces PCI-ASV Recertification
In order to become a certified ASV or be recertified, organizations must undergo a rigorous process
San Antonio, TX – October 25, 2010 – Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI), a leading provider of information security governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions, today announced the company received formal notification from the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council (SSC) it has successfully passed the Testing Phase of the PCI Scanning Vendor Program. The achievement is significant because it not only maintains DDI’s place on the list of PCI Approved Scanning Vendors (ASV), but also demonstrates stability and longevity as this is the fifth year in a row DDI has attained this accomplishment, which few other vendors can claim.
“We have been using comprehensive PCI vulnerability scanning services provided by DDI for many years,” explained Lawrence (Larry) G. Foran, Senior Security Officer at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP. “Their layered approach not only gives us PCI vulnerability scanning to satisfy PCI Compliance Requirements, but lays out a robust and comprehensive vulnerability scanning program, which we can perform on our own or have DDI personnel manage for us. It is a huge time saver and we have been extremely pleased with the deliverables year after year. It is a requirement for firms such as ours to have a PCI Approved Scanning Vendor execute our vulnerability scans and the fact that DDI has maintained that rating for five years is exceptional.”
The PCI SSC administers the ASV program. In order to become a certified ASV or be recertified, organizations must undergo a rigorous process. Therefore, the PCI SSC recommends that clients check the list each time the services of an ASV are engaged, to ensure the ASV has successfully maintained its approval.
“We are extremely proud DDI has achieved PCI ASV recertification and that we have maintained this status for five years,” stated Mark Bell, EVP of Operations at Digital Defense. “DDI is a standards and process-driven organization and we take this accomplishment very seriously, as does the marketplace. Knowing that an organization such as the PCI SSC is setting a high bar and implementing the standard on a global basis so that clients can have the highest confidence that confidential information remains secure is an undertaking we support wholeheartedly.”
